PackCast Privacy Policy

PackCast helps you build packing checklists from trip details such as destination, dates, baggage, activities, and forecast conditions.

PackCast stores trip setup, checklist progress, and local preferences on your device. The app does not require an account, does not include ads, does not use data for third-party tracking, and does not sell personal information.

To provide forecast-based suggestions, PackCast may send typed destination text for geocoding and destination coordinates for weather lookup through Apple-provided services, including WeatherKit where available. PackCast does not request current-location permission for the first release.

Premium purchases and restores are processed through Apple's App Store systems and managed in PackCast through RevenueCat. RevenueCat may receive purchase identifiers, receipt or transaction status, subscription entitlement state, and an app-generated user identifier so Premium access and restore purchase can work. Cold Start Software does not receive your full payment card details, and PackCast does not use external purchase links.

PackCast uses PostHog for product analytics such as app opens, checklist generation, paywall views, purchase and restore outcomes, and share starts. These events are scoped to PackCast and intentionally do not include typed destinations, trip dates, notes, or checklist item text.

PackCast uses Sentry for crash and diagnostic reporting. Diagnostic events may include technical information such as app version, build number, device model, operating system version, error type, stack trace, and coarse app context. PackCast disables default personally identifying information, network breadcrumbs, failed request capture, and performance tracing in its Sentry configuration.

If you email support, we use the information you provide to respond to your request and manage related support history.

Local trip and checklist data remains on your device until you edit it, clear it, or remove the app. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to respond, maintain business records, and handle follow-up issues. Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, and Sentry may retain the limited data they process according to their own service policies.

Because PackCast does not require an account, deleting the app removes the local trip and checklist data stored by PackCast on that device. You can manage subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds through your Apple ID purchase settings. You can also contact support to request access, correction, export, deletion, or other privacy help for support records or other data Cold Start Software can reasonably identify.

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, appeal, or restriction of processing. PackCast does not sell personal information and does not use third-party advertising identifiers.
